Dyslexia Victoria Online has its origins in the late 1990’s with Ardmore Publishing which was established when Jan Turner decided to distribute her highly regarded Language Arts study manuals: “The Study of English
Language” and “The Study of English Literature”.
Then in the early part of 2000 she felt it was time to publish the books
on Dyslexia she co-authored with her daughter, Karen Hope. They are based on her experiences tutoring and assessing dyslexic children and adults and Karen’s teaching methods developed while raising three dyslexic children. These
books: “Teaching the Dyslexic in the Classroom and at Home”,
the revised “How the Right Brain Thinks” and “How
the Right Brain Learns” along with “Dyslexia: Spelling”
and “Dyslexia or Being Right Brained” contain the bulk of their
methods and observations.
The concepts and methodology created by them became the Dyslexia Victoria Method. Jan and Karen then produced courses instructing parents and
teachers of dyslexic children using this method.
In the summer of 2005 the authors realized
that the best way to make these informative books and courses on Dyslexia available to the public was to create an internet version of Dyslexia Victoria which was named "Dyslexia Victoria Online".
Soon after, Janice and Karen found there was a need for parents
and tutors to have lessons completely appropriate for the right-brain
dyslexic student. By employing the teaching skills of Janice
Turner, a former high school teacher of Language Arts, and the methods
designed by Karen Hope who is dyslexic and raised three dyslexic children
who are now very successful having overcome their dyslexia, the E-lessons began.
The products of T.H.I. are being updated and improved constantly so

are incorporated into the books and lessons created by the Dyslexia Victoria Online.
The Dyslexia Victoria Online Approach to teaching is based on the premise that dyslexia is neither a disability nor a neurological dysfunction. These students are highly intelligent and visionary. By teaching them some very simple
skills, using appropriate teaching aids and becoming proactive by learning they need to ask specific questions to ask to complete school assignments, you can give your students or
children a chance to succeed. These skills will benefit them for the
rest of their life and make learning enjoyable for them.
Reading the books offered by T.H.I. will show you how you can help
your children think and succeed in the classroom and in life.
